DR. EVERETT HERINGER: Hello, I'm Dr. Everett Heringer. I'd like to welcome you to my practice at Bismarck Center for Laser and Cosmetic Dentistry. I've been a dentist in Bismarck for over 30 years now and I have restored and reshaped peoples' smiles during that time. One thing that I've learned and what you're going to learn today is that behind every smile there's story and most times it's a tragic story. And the stories can be as simple as patients don't like the black triangle between their front teeth and they're just so embarrassed when they smile. Or they have space between their front teeth and they're so embarrassed about that too when they smile.

And then their story can be as heart wrenching as a woman who is celebrating her 40th wedding anniversary and she recalls the day. We sit in for our consultation and she recalls the day where she spent her whole day hiding her smile because she just hated the appearance of her teeth. She had some crowns done and there are black lines on them. And she just spent the whole day hiding her smile during her wedding day 40 years previous. And to hear her story now and tell us that story how she wants to transform her smile, it should like erase those memories. That's wonderful.

Or it could be as a young woman who is a rancher out in eastern Montana who grew up with heavy fluoridated water, heavy minerals in their water on their ranch they drank. And all the people in the neighborhood or all around that area had the same basically colored teeth and what these teeth look like they were dark, they were stained, they were striated. When she smiled it took away from the beauty of herself and your eyes focused directly on to the dark stains of her teeth. And she just wanted to erase those dark stains and she wanted to have a more beautiful smile so she could feel good around people and smile.
