Dental Cleanings and Exams

Dental cleanings and exams are a fundamental part of oral health. With regular cleanings, our hygienists can remove destructive bacteria, plaque, and tartar. Exams will also help your dentist to detect the early signs of cavities and gum disease. Oral cancer screenings are another vital part of our routine checkups. Because this disease is often fast-moving and fatal, regular screenings could save your life.

Lip Tie Release

If your child has a lip tie, it can limit their ability to curl and use the upper lip properly. As a result, your baby may have trouble breastfeeding and may not be able to put on the normal amount of weight. Additionally, nursing may be very painful for the mother. During lip tie release, Dr. Heringer or Dr. Renz will use an advanced laser to release the lip tie and increase range of motion.

Tongue Tie Release

A tongue tie release is similar to a lip tie release. If your child suffers from a tongue tie, the lower frenulum will keep the tongue attached to the floor of their mouth. Like a lip tie, this can make breastfeeding difficult. It can also cause speech impediments when your child gets older. Because we use lasers to correct tongue ties, the treatment involves very little discomfort.

Root Canal Therapy

We usually recommend root canal therapy for infected teeth and, occasionally, for cracked teeth. Using a WaterLase® laser, your dentist will clean out your tooth, removing infected tissue and bacteria. With the laser, your endodontic therapy will be very gentle, since it will not involve vibrations or loud noises. Root canal therapy can end your toothache and restore full dental function, even after significant infection.

TMJ Disorder Treatment

If you have damaged temporomandibular joints (TMJ) or inflammation in the nearby tissues, it can cause radiating pain across your lower face. You may also suffer from limited jaw movement, ear pain, and several other symptoms. Drs. Heringer and Renz offer comprehensive and non-invasive treatment for TMJs.

Tooth Extractions

If you have a seriously damaged tooth, extraction may be the only way to protect your oral health. A very large cavity or infection can destroy most of your tooth, and we may need to take it out. We can also extract incoming wisdom teeth that are causing significant crowding. We use gentle techniques to perform all types of extractions, including surgical removal.
